Volume facade logo with perimeter glow
Scope
A regional HQ refresh required a three-meter-wide illuminated mark on composite cladding. Wind load, thermal expansion, and maintenance from a boom lift drove the detailing. The client asked for a soft halo without visible hot spots on the returns.
Technical summary
Painted aluminum cans with LED modules on adjustable shelves allow field aiming during night commissioning. Perimeter flanges conceal fasteners and integrate drainage weeps. IP rating matches the wall class; gaskets are continuous with break points only at service doors. Grounding bonds follow the electrical engineer’s grid; surge protection sits in the roof plant room.
Commissioning
We shot photometric grids from the parking approach and the highway off-ramp viewpoint. Minor shutter depth tweaks balanced legibility against energy cap. As-built photos and torque logs were added to the facility’s CMMS.
Outcome
Brand compliance audit passed on first review. Annual inspection showed stable seal compression and no corrosion at stainless anchors. Energy use tracks within the modeled kWh budget.
On-site install: 3 days with partial lane closure coordination.
